coccygeal nerves
The coccygeal nerves are a group of spinal nerves that emerge from the coccyx, or tailbone, at the base of the spine. There are typically one or two pairs of these nerves, which are part of the sacral plexus. They play a role in providing sensory and motor functions to the skin around the coccyx and the pelvic region.
These nerves are involved in the innervation of the pelvic floor muscles and contribute to the sensation in the area. While they are not as prominent as other spinal nerves, they are important for certain reflexes and functions related to the lower body.
