Sacral Nerves
The sacral nerves are a group of five pairs of nerves that emerge from the sacrum, a triangular bone at the base of the spine. These nerves are part of the peripheral nervous system and play a crucial role in transmitting signals between the spinal cord and various parts of the lower body, including the legs, feet, and pelvic organs.
Each sacral nerve is responsible for specific functions, such as controlling muscle movements and sensations in the lower limbs. They also contribute to autonomic functions, including bladder and bowel control, making them essential for everyday activities and overall bodily function.
