The caste system is a social hierarchy traditionally found in India, dividing people into different groups based on their birth and occupation. It consists of four main categories, known as varnas: Brahmins (priests and scholars), Kshatriyas (warriors and rulers), Vaishyas (traders and agriculturists), and Shudras (laborers and service providers).
Over time, this system became more complex, leading to the emergence of numerous sub-castes, or jatis. Although the caste system has been officially abolished in India, its influence persists in some areas, affecting social interactions, marriage, and economic opportunities.
