adenoidectomies
An adenoidectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the adenoids, which are small masses of lymphatic tissue located at the back of the nasal cavity. These tissues help fight infections, but when they become enlarged, they can cause breathing difficulties, sleep apnea, or recurrent ear infections. The surgery is often performed on children but can be done on adults as well.
The procedure is typically done under general anesthesia and takes about 30 minutes. Recovery usually involves some discomfort and a sore throat, but most patients can return to normal activities within a week. Adenoidectomies are often performed alongside tonsillectomies for patients with related issues.
