Otitis Media
Otitis Media is an infection or inflammation of the middle ear, which is the space behind the eardrum. It often occurs when fluid builds up in this area, usually due to a cold, allergies, or sinus infection. Symptoms can include ear pain, difficulty hearing, and sometimes fever.
This condition is more common in children, as their Eustachian tubes are shorter and more horizontal, making it easier for germs to reach the middle ear. Treatment may involve pain relief, antibiotics, or in some cases, surgical procedures to drain fluid and relieve pressure.
