Zrínyi Miklós was a notable Croatian nobleman and military leader born in 1620. He is best known for his role in the defense of the Habsburg Empire against the Ottoman Empire during the 17th century. Zrínyi was also a poet and writer, contributing to the cultural life of his time, particularly through his epic poem, Szigeti veszedelem. He is remembered for his heroic stand during the Siege of Szigetvár in 1566, where he led a valiant defense against overwhelming Ottoman forces.
