Zip Disk
A Zip Disk is a removable storage medium developed by Iomega in the mid-1990s. It was designed to hold large amounts of data, typically ranging from 100 MB to 750 MB, which was significant at the time. Zip Disks were used primarily for backing up files and transferring data between computers.
The Zip Disk was housed in a protective plastic case, making it more durable than traditional floppy disks. Users accessed the data using a compatible Zip Drive, which connected to a computer via USB or parallel ports. Although popular for a time, Zip Disks eventually became obsolete with the rise of USB flash drives and cloud storage.
