Zip Drive
A Zip Drive is a removable storage device that was popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It was developed by Iomega and could store significantly more data than standard floppy disks, typically up to 250 MB or 750 MB, depending on the model. Zip Drives used special Zip disks, which were designed to be durable and portable, making them ideal for backing up files and transferring data between computers.
The Zip Drive connected to a computer via a parallel or USB port, allowing users to easily read and write data. While it was widely used for a time, the rise of larger-capacity USB flash drives and external hard drives eventually led to its decline in popularity. Today, Zip Drives are largely considered obsolete, but they played a significant role in the evolution of portable data storage.
