Zimbabwean dollars
The Zimbabwean dollar is the official currency of Zimbabwe. It was first introduced in 1980, replacing the Rhodesian dollar. Over the years, the currency has experienced significant inflation, leading to the introduction of new banknotes and coins in various denominations.
In 2009, due to hyperinflation, the Zimbabwean dollar was abandoned, and the country began using foreign currencies like the US dollar and the South African rand. In 2019, the government reintroduced the Zimbabwean dollar as the sole legal tender, aiming to stabilize the economy and regain control over monetary policy.
