Zhuyin
Zhuyin, also known as Bopomofo, is a phonetic system used to transcribe the sounds of the Mandarin language. It consists of 37 characters and four tone marks, allowing learners to pronounce words accurately. Developed in the early 20th century, Zhuyin is primarily used in Taiwan for teaching reading and writing.
Zhuyin is often found in educational materials, children's books, and language learning resources. It serves as a helpful tool for those unfamiliar with Chinese characters, making it easier to grasp pronunciation. While Pinyin is more widely used in mainland China, Zhuyin remains an essential part of Taiwanese education.
