Zeta Velorum
Zeta Velorum is a binary star system located in the constellation of Vela, which is part of the larger Argo Navis constellation. It is approximately 24 light-years away from Earth and consists of two stars: Zeta Velorum A and Zeta Velorum B. The primary star, Zeta Velorum A, is a blue giant, while Zeta Velorum B is a smaller, less luminous star.
The two stars orbit each other with a period of about 1,000 years. Zeta Velorum A is significantly more massive and hotter than our Sun, with a surface temperature exceeding 20,000 Kelvin. This system is an interesting subject for astronomers studying stellar evolution and the dynamics of binary systems.
