Yunnan Golden Monkey
The Yunnan Golden Monkey, also known as the Golden Snub-nosed Monkey, is a primate species native to the mountainous forests of Yunnan Province in China. This monkey is easily recognized by its striking golden fur, blue face, and distinctive upturned nose. They primarily inhabit high-altitude regions, living in social groups that can consist of up to 50 individuals.
These monkeys are herbivorous, feeding mainly on leaves, fruits, and flowers. They are well-adapted to their cold environment, with thick fur that helps them survive harsh winters. The Yunnan Golden Monkey is currently classified as endangered due to habitat loss and poaching, making conservation efforts crucial for their survival.
