Yule Lads
The Yule Lads are a group of 13 mischievous figures from Icelandic folklore. They are said to visit children during the 13 nights leading up to Christmas. Each lad has a unique name and personality, often reflecting their playful antics, such as stealing food or playing pranks.
Traditionally, children place their shoes in the window, and the Yule Lads leave small gifts for well-behaved kids or rotten potatoes for those who misbehave. The Yule Lads are part of the larger Yule tradition, which includes other figures like Grýla, their mother, who is known for her fearsome nature.
