Yugoslav Partisans
The Yugoslav Partisans were a resistance movement during World War II, formed in 1941 to fight against the Axis powers, particularly Nazi Germany and its collaborators. Led by Josip Broz Tito, the Partisans were a diverse group, including communists, nationalists, and various ethnicities, united in their goal to liberate Yugoslavia from occupation.
The Partisans employed guerrilla warfare tactics, conducting sabotage operations and engaging in direct combat. They gained significant support from the local population and eventually became the dominant military force in Yugoslavia. After the war, the Partisans established a socialist federation, leading to the formation of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
