Young Turk Revolution
The Young Turk Revolution of 1908 was a pivotal movement in the Ottoman Empire aimed at restoring the constitution and modernizing the state. Led by the Committee of Union and Progress, the revolution sought to end the absolute rule of Sultan Abdulhamid II and promote democratic reforms.
The revolution successfully resulted in the re-establishment of the Ottoman Constitution of 1876, leading to a brief period of political freedom and increased participation in governance. However, internal divisions and external pressures soon challenged the revolution's goals, ultimately contributing to the empire's decline in the following years.
