Yorkshire Ripper
The "Yorkshire Ripper" is the nickname given to Peter Sutcliffe, a British serial killer who was active in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was convicted of murdering 13 women and attempting to murder seven others, primarily targeting vulnerable women in the Yorkshire area. His crimes caused widespread fear and led to a major police investigation.
Sutcliffe was arrested in 1980 and sentenced to life imprisonment in 1981. His case raised significant issues regarding police procedures and the treatment of women, as many of his victims were sex workers. Sutcliffe died in 2020 while serving his sentence.
