Yard Line
A "Yard Line" is a term used in American football to indicate the distance from the end zone on the field. The field is marked with lines every five yards, starting from the end zone and extending to the other end. These lines help players, coaches, and fans understand how far the team needs to advance to score a touchdown.
Each yard line is numbered, with the 50-yard line in the center of the field being the midpoint. When a team has the ball, they aim to move forward past these yard lines to gain first downs and ultimately reach the end zone for a score.
