Xiaobo Liu
Xiaobo Liu was a prominent Chinese dissident and human rights activist known for his advocacy for political reform and democracy in China. He gained international recognition for his role in the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 and later co-authored the Charter 08, a manifesto calling for political change and greater freedoms in China.
In 2010, Liu was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent struggle for human rights. He spent many years in prison due to his activism, and his work has inspired many around the world to fight for freedom and justice. Liu passed away in July 2017.
