Wuchang Uprising
The Wuchang Uprising was a significant event in Chinese history that occurred on October 10, 1911. It marked the beginning of the Xinhai Revolution, which aimed to overthrow the Qing Dynasty and establish a republic. The uprising started in the city of Wuchang, where revolutionary forces launched an attack against the Qing government, leading to widespread support for their cause.
Following the uprising, the movement quickly spread across China, resulting in the abdication of the last Qing emperor, Puyi, in early 1912. This event ultimately led to the establishment of the Republic of China, ending over two thousand years of imperial rule and paving the way for modern Chinese governance.
