Worm Composting
Worm composting, also known as vermicomposting, is a method of recycling organic waste using earthworms. These worms break down food scraps, paper, and other biodegradable materials into nutrient-rich compost, often referred to as worm castings. This process not only reduces waste but also produces a valuable soil amendment that enhances plant growth.
To start worm composting, you need a suitable container, bedding material like shredded paper, and red wigglers, a type of worm ideal for composting. The worms consume the organic matter, and in a few months, you can harvest the compost to enrich your garden or potted plants.
