Wollemia nobilis
Wollemia nobilis, commonly known as the Wollemi pine, is a rare tree species native to Australia. Discovered in 1994 in the Wollemi National Park, it was thought to be extinct for millions of years. This ancient tree can grow up to 50 meters tall and features distinctive, feathery leaves.
The Wollemi pine is classified as a living fossil, belonging to the family Araucariaceae. It thrives in a specific habitat of moist, sheltered canyons. Conservation efforts are in place to protect this unique species, which is now cultivated in various botanical gardens around the world.
