William S. Rosecrans
William S. Rosecrans was a Union general during the American Civil War, known for his leadership in several key battles. Born on September 6, 1819, in Delaware, New Jersey, he graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1842. Rosecrans played a significant role in the Battle of Stones River and the Battle of Chattanooga, where his strategic skills were evident.
