William Osler
William Osler was a prominent physician and one of the founding professors of the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Born in 1849 in Canada, he is often referred to as the "Father of Modern Medicine" for his contributions to medical education and practice. Osler emphasized the importance of clinical experience and bedside teaching, which transformed how medicine was taught.
He co-founded the American Medical Association and played a key role in establishing the first residency training program. Osler also authored the influential medical textbook, The Principles and Practice of Medicine, which became a standard reference for generations of doctors.
