William II, Prince of Orange
William II, Prince of Orange (1626-1650), was a significant figure in the history of the Dutch Republic. He was the son of Maurice of Nassau, a prominent military leader, and became the head of the House of Orange-Nassau after his father's death. William II played a crucial role in the political and military affairs of the Republic during a time of conflict with Spain.
As a military commander, William II sought to strengthen the position of the House of Orange and expand its influence.
