Wilhelm Lehmbruck
Wilhelm Lehmbruck was a German sculptor and painter born on 4th March 1881 in Duisburg, Germany. He is best known for his expressive sculptures that often depict the human form in a stylized and elongated manner. Lehmbruck's work reflects themes of melancholy and existentialism, influenced by the Expressionist movement.
Lehmbruck studied at the Düsseldorf Academy and later moved to Paris, where he was inspired by modern art. His notable works include the sculptures "The Kiss" and "The Thinker." He faced personal struggles and tragically took his own life in 1919, leaving a lasting impact on 20th-century sculpture.
