White Sturgeon
The White Sturgeon is a large fish species native to the Pacific Northwest of North America. It can grow up to 18 feet long and weigh over 1,500 pounds, making it one of the largest freshwater fish in North America. White Sturgeon are known for their distinctive elongated bodies and bony scutes instead of scales.
These fish primarily inhabit rivers and estuaries, particularly the Columbia River and Sacramento River. They are anadromous, meaning they migrate between freshwater and saltwater environments. White Sturgeon are also long-lived, with some individuals reaching ages of over 100 years.
