Green Sturgeon
The Green Sturgeon is a species of fish found along the Pacific Coast of North America, primarily in estuaries and coastal waters. It is known for its elongated body and distinctive greenish coloration, which helps it blend into its environment. This fish can grow up to 7 feet long and is recognized for its unique bony plates, called scutes, that cover its body.
Green Sturgeons are anadromous, meaning they migrate between saltwater and freshwater to spawn. They primarily feed on small invertebrates and fish. Due to habitat loss and overfishing, the Green Sturgeon is considered a threatened species, prompting conservation efforts to protect its populations.
