Western Notation
Western Notation is a system used to visually represent music through symbols on a staff. It consists of five horizontal lines and four spaces, where notes are placed to indicate pitch. Additional symbols, such as clefs, time signatures, and dynamics, provide further information about how the music should be played.
This notation system is widely used in classical music, jazz, and many other genres, allowing musicians to read and perform compositions accurately. It has evolved over centuries, influenced by various cultures, and remains a fundamental tool for composers and performers in the Western music tradition.
