Welsh Senedd
The Welsh Senedd, also known as the Senedd Cymru, is the national parliament of Wales. It was established in 1999 and is located in Cardiff. The Senedd is responsible for making laws and decisions on various issues, including health, education, and the environment, specifically for Wales. It operates under a system of devolution, which allows it to govern certain areas independently from the UK Parliament.
The Senedd consists of 60 elected members known as MSs (Members of the Senedd). These representatives are chosen through a mixed electoral system that combines first-past-the-post and proportional representation. The Senedd also plays a crucial role in scrutinizing the Welsh Government, ensuring accountability, and engaging with the public on important matters affecting Wales.
