Waxes
Waxes are solid or semi-solid substances made primarily from long-chain fatty acids and alcohols. They are commonly found in nature, such as in the protective coatings of plants and beeswax produced by honeybees. Waxes have a variety of uses, including in cosmetics, candles, and food packaging, due to their water-resistant properties.
In addition to natural sources, synthetic waxes are also produced for industrial applications. These can be used in coatings, lubricants, and even in the production of crayons. The versatility of waxes makes them valuable in many different fields, from art to manufacturing.
