Wave Clouds
Wave clouds are a type of cloud formation that occurs when air flows over a mountain or hill, creating a series of waves in the atmosphere. As the air rises and falls, it cools and condenses, forming clouds at the crest of the waves. These clouds often appear as long, parallel bands, resembling ripples on a surface.
These formations can be seen in various weather conditions and are often associated with altocumulus or stratus clouds. Wave clouds can indicate the presence of turbulence in the atmosphere, making them interesting to meteorologists and pilots alike.
