Waris Shah
Waris Shah was an influential Punjabi poet born in 1722 in the village of Jandiala Sher Khan, near Lahore, in present-day Pakistan. He is best known for his epic poem, Heer Ranjha, which tells the tragic love story of Heer and Ranjha.
