Wannsee Conference
The Wannsee Conference took place on January 20, 1942, in a villa located in the suburb of Wannsee, Berlin. It was a meeting of senior officials from the Nazi Party and various government departments to discuss the implementation of the Final Solution, which aimed at the systematic extermination of the Jewish population in Europe.
During the conference, participants outlined plans for the deportation and murder of millions of Jews. The meeting was led by Reinhard Heydrich, a high-ranking official in the SS, and resulted in the coordination of efforts among different agencies to carry out the genocide.
