Wang So
Wang So, also known as King Gwangjong of Goryeo, was the fourth king of the Goryeo Dynasty in Korea, reigning from 949 to 975. He is known for his efforts to strengthen royal authority and centralize power, which included the establishment of a more organized government and the promotion of Confucianism. His reign marked a significant period of consolidation for the Goryeo state.
Wang So was the son of Wang Geon, the founder of the Goryeo Dynasty. He faced challenges during his rule, including internal strife and opposition from powerful aristocratic families. Despite these challenges, he is remembered for his contributions to the development of the Goryeo state and its cultural achievements.
