Wang Geon
Wang Geon, also known as King Taejo of Goryeo, was the founder of the Goryeo Dynasty in Korea. He was born in 877 and rose to power in the late 9th century during a time of political turmoil. Wang Geon unified various warring states and established a centralized government, marking the beginning of a new era in Korean history.
Wang Geon ruled from 918 until his death in 943. His reign is noted for promoting Buddhism and fostering cultural development. The Goryeo Dynasty lasted for several centuries and is known for its advancements in art, literature, and technology, significantly shaping Korean identity.
