King Gwangjong of Goryeo
King Gwangjong of Goryeo was the fourth king of the Goryeo Dynasty in Korea, reigning from 949 to 975. He is known for consolidating power and strengthening the central government. Gwangjong implemented various reforms, including the establishment of a civil service examination system, which helped promote meritocracy in government positions.
During his reign, Gwangjong also expanded the territory of Goryeo and improved relations with neighboring states.
