WASP-43
WASP-43 is an exoplanet located approximately 260 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Crater. It was discovered in 2011 and is classified as a hot Jupiter, meaning it is a gas giant that orbits very close to its host star, resulting in high surface temperatures.
The planet orbits its star, WASP-43, every 19 hours, making it one of the shortest orbital periods known for a hot Jupiter. Its proximity to the star leads to extreme atmospheric conditions, which scientists study to understand the characteristics and behavior of exoplanets in similar environments.
