Voskhod 2
Voskhod 2 was a Soviet space mission launched on March 12, 1965. It was notable for carrying the first astronaut, Alexei Leonov, to conduct a spacewalk, or extravehicular activity (EVA). The mission lasted about 26 hours and orbited the Earth 17 times.
During the spacewalk, Leonov spent approximately 12 minutes outside the spacecraft, tethered by a cord. This historic event marked a significant achievement in human space exploration, demonstrating the feasibility of working outside a spacecraft. The mission successfully returned to Earth, landing in the Siberian region on March 13, 1965.
