Alexei Leonov
Alexei Leonov was a Soviet cosmonaut born on May 30, 1934. He is best known for being the first person to conduct a spacewalk, or extravehicular activity (EVA), on March 18, 1965, during the Voskhod 2 mission. This historic event lasted about 12 minutes and demonstrated the possibilities of human activity outside a spacecraft.
In addition to his groundbreaking spacewalk, Leonov participated in the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project in 1975, which was the first international human spaceflight mission. He later became an artist and author, sharing his experiences in space and contributing to the field of space exploration.
