Vinicunca
Vinicunca, also known as Rainbow Mountain, is a stunning natural formation located in the Andes of Peru. It is famous for its vibrant, multi-colored stripes, which are the result of mineral deposits and erosion. The mountain stands at an elevation of approximately 5,200 meters (17,060 feet) and is part of the Cusco region, attracting many hikers and tourists.
The best time to visit Vinicunca is during the dry season, from May to September, when the weather is more stable. The hike to the summit typically takes around 2 to 3 hours, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including the nearby Ausangate mountain.
