Vincent Chin
Vincent Chin was a Chinese American man who became a symbol of racial violence and injustice in the United States. In 1982, he was brutally beaten to death in Detroit, Michigan, by two white men, Ronald Ebens and Michael Nitz, who mistakenly believed he was responsible for the decline of the American auto industry.
The case drew national attention when the assailants received minimal punishment, leading to widespread outrage within the Asian American community. This incident sparked activism and discussions about racism, hate crimes, and the need for better legal protections for marginalized groups in America.
