Verdicchio
Verdicchio is a white grape variety primarily grown in the Marche region of Italy. Known for its crisp acidity and refreshing flavors, it often features notes of green apple, citrus, and almond. Verdicchio wines are typically dry and can range from light to medium-bodied.
The grape is most famously used in two DOC wines: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Verdicchio di Matelica. These wines are celebrated for their ability to age well, developing complex flavors over time. Verdicchio pairs well with seafood, poultry, and light pasta dishes, making it a versatile choice for various cuisines.
