Venera 9
Venera 9 was a Soviet space probe launched on June 8, 1975, designed to study the planet Venus. It successfully landed on the surface of Venus on October 22, 1975, becoming the first spacecraft to transmit images from another planet's surface.
The probe operated for about 53 minutes, sending back data on the atmospheric conditions and surface composition of Venus. Its findings revealed a harsh environment, with high temperatures and pressure, as well as a rocky landscape covered in volcanic features. Venera 9 significantly advanced our understanding of Venus and paved the way for future missions.
