Vedic Texts
The Vedic Texts are ancient scriptures that form the foundation of Hinduism. Composed in Sanskrit, they date back to around 1500-500 BCE and consist of four main collections: the Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, and Atharvaveda. These texts include hymns, rituals, and philosophical teachings that guide spiritual practices and societal norms.
The Vedic Texts are divided into two main parts: the Samhitas, which are collections of hymns, and the Brahmanas, which provide explanations and instructions for rituals. Additionally, the Upanishads, part of the Vedic literature, explore deeper philosophical concepts and the nature of reality, influencing various aspects of Indian culture and spirituality.
