Vasili II
Vasili II, also known as Vasili II of Moscow, was a Grand Prince of Moscow who reigned from 1425 to 1462. He was the son of Vasili I and played a crucial role in consolidating the power of the Grand Duchy of Moscow during a time of internal strife and external threats. His reign was marked by conflicts with rival princes and the Tatar invasions.
Vasili II is often remembered for his efforts to strengthen the central authority of Moscow and expand its territory. He faced significant challenges, including the Civil War known as the "Time of Troubles," but ultimately succeeded in maintaining and enhancing the influence of Moscow in the region.
