Varosha
Varosha is a former resort area in Famagusta, located on the eastern coast of Cyprus. Once a thriving tourist destination, it was abandoned in 1974 during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Since then, it has remained a ghost town, with its buildings and beaches left to deteriorate.
In recent years, Varosha has gained attention as discussions about its reopening have emerged. The area is still under military control, but there have been efforts to restore and repopulate it. The fate of Varosha is closely tied to the ongoing political situation in Cyprus.
