Varahamihira was an ancient Indian astronomer, mathematician, and astrologer who lived during the 6th century CE. He is best known for his contributions to the field of Jyotisha, which is the traditional Hindu system of astrology. His most famous work, the Brihat Samhita, covers a wide range of topics, including astronomy, meteorology, and architecture, and is considered a significant text in Indian science.
In addition to the Brihat Samhita, Varahamihira authored several other important texts, such as the Pancha Siddhantika, which discusses five astronomical systems. His work laid the foundation for future developments in both astronomy and astrology in India, influencing scholars and practitioners for centuries.
