Uyghur people
The Uyghur people are a Turkic ethnic group primarily found in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. They have their own distinct language, Uyghur, which is part of the Turkic language family, and they practice a predominantly Muslim faith, with a rich cultural heritage that includes traditional music, dance, and cuisine.
Historically, the Uyghurs have been involved in trade along the Silk Road, connecting China with Central Asia and beyond. Today, they face various social and political challenges, including issues related to cultural preservation and human rights, as their identity and way of life are impacted by government policies.
