Upper Scorpius
Upper Scorpius is a star-forming region located in the constellation of Scorpius. It is part of the larger Scorpius-Centaurus Association, which is one of the nearest regions of active star formation to Earth. This area contains many young, hot stars and is characterized by its bright, colorful nebulae.
The region is home to several notable stars, including Antares, a red supergiant that is one of the brightest stars in the night sky. Upper Scorpius also features numerous clusters of stars, such as the Upper Scorpius OB Association, which are important for studying stellar evolution and the dynamics of star formation.
