Rho Ophiuchi
Rho Ophiuchi is a binary star system located in the constellation of Ophiuchus. It is approximately 400 light-years away from Earth and consists of two stars, Rho Ophiuchi A and Rho Ophiuchi B, which are separated by about 0.5 arcseconds. The system is known for its colorful appearance, with Rho Ophiuchi A being a blue-white star and Rho Ophiuchi B a cooler orange star.
The Rho Ophiuchi region is also notable for its surrounding nebulae, including the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex. This area is rich in star formation and contains various molecular clouds, making it a popular target for astronomers studying the birth of stars and planetary systems.
